Rice Cooker Oyakodon
  1. Wash rice and add to your rice cooker with water.

  2. Mix soy sauce, hondashi, mirin, and sugar in a bowl.

  3. Add diced chicken and onions to the sauce and coat.

  4. Place onion & chicken mixture directly over the rice in the rice cooker. Be sure to pour in the remaining sauce. Set aside the bowl to use the next step.

  5. Cook as you normally would cook rice. While cooking, crack eggs and beat with chopsticks or a fork for just 20 seconds.

  6. Immediately after the rice is finished cooking, quickly open the rice cooker, pour the egg mixture over the chicken and rice, and shut it again quickly. Turn on the rice cooker again (on regular rice setting) and cook for 2 minutes.

  7. Open rice cooker and serve, garnishing with green onions and roasted sesame seeds.
