Put the chicken in a large freezer bag.
Place all of the marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Reserve ½ cup for brushing on wings while they are grilling.
Pour the marinade from the bowl into the freezer bag with the chicken.
Massage the chicken with the marinade.
Place in refrigerator for at least 3 hours. (Overnight is best).
Heat grill to medium heat.
Remove chicken wings from marinade and grill until slightly charred and fully cooked, about 25 to 30 minutes.
Place on a platter and let rest for 5 minutes.
Garnish with extra scallions and sliced red peppers.
