Add 1 mug of rice to a pan and follow with 2 mugs of water. Add a pinch of salt.
Bring to a boil and cook for 8-10 minutes until the rice is fluffy.
For saffron rice, add a pinch of saffron to the rice and water.
For salted lemon rice, add 1-2 chopped salted lemons and mint.
For Indian-spiced rice, add 10 cloves, ½ stick of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of turmeric to the rice and water.
