3 cups of flour
One cube salted butter, grated
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk, (If you don't have buttermilk, you can use a cup of regular milk with a teaspoon of vinegar)
3 inch biscuit cutter
Grate your butter and stick in the freezer while you prep your biscuits.
Add a tablespoon of butter to a cast-iron skillet and pop in a 425° oven.
Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Gently massage your frozen butter then make a well in the middle and add your buttermilk. Stir until just barely mixed. Turn out on a floured surface and fold together 2 to 3 times. Pat down to about half inch and cut out with your biscuit cutter.
Bake in 425° oven for 13 to 15 minutes. Make sure you smear some butter on top When it comes out of the oven.
