Hot Honey Sardines
  1. Heat a pan over medium heat with a little oil from the sardine can or extra virgin olive oil

  2. Add fresh garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 20 seconds

  3. Add sardines and gently sear for 1–2 minutes

  4. Pour in soy sauce, hot honey, and lemon juice

  5. Let it bubble and caramelize for about 1–2 minutes, spooning sauce over sardines

  6. Remove when sticky and glossy

  7. Serve over steamed rice with avocado slices, jammy sunny side up egg, cucumber slices, and toasted sesame seeds
