Almond Crescent Biscuits
  1. Mix well 50g Caster Sugar with 100g butter.

  2. Add 1 egg yolk, 1 tbsp ouzo , or brandy, Grand Marnier or lemon juice etc.. a good tbsp finely grated orange zest, ½ tsp baking powder, 1 cup of sifted plain flour and a ¼ tsp of salt and ⅓ cup chopped toasted almonds .

  3. Form into a ball. Don’t over mix.

  4. You can refrigerate if you have time.

  5. Shape 15 small balls that you shape into sausage and crescent shapes.

  6. Bake in oven for 15 to 20 mins at about 180C .

  7. Let cool before rolling into icing sugar.
