Candied Hot Dog Bits
  1. Mince 3-4 hotdogs by slicing down each side with a knife, mandoline or peeler.

  2. Heat (med-high) enough avocado oil in a cast iron skillet to cover the base, then add in your hot dogs first before bits, stirring occasionally.

  3. Once they’ve crisped up (about 10 mins), add in 1-2 tsp of paprika and an optional dash of salt and pepper, then place back on heat.

  4. Turn heat down to low and pour in a couple Tbsp of maple syrup, stirring constantly. If you want more of a candy bark type of texture, heat for longer, but if you want individual pieces remove immediately (keep in mind this hardens as it cools).

  5. Once cooled serve on top of pastas, salads, desserts etc just as you’d use bacon bits or candied nuts.
