Preheat the oven to 350°F with a rack in the center position.Cook the chorizo in a large ovenproof-skillet over medium heat, stirring, until crumbly
Drain off any fat into a heat proof container
Set aside ¼ cup of chorizo for the topping, leaving the rest of the chorizo in the skillet
Stir the green chilis into the chorizo
Cover the chorizo-chili mixture with the cheese.Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.Remove the skillet from the oven and top with remaining chorizo, pico de gallo and cilantro, if using
Serve warm with tortilla chips or tortillas.
