Pit the dates and place them on a lined baking tray
Mix the cacao powder, maple syrup, and almond butter in a bowl
Roll the mixture into balls and place a ball onto each date
Cover with baking paper and smash each one down with a glass
Melt chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan with two inches of water on low heat, stirring gently until melted
Spoon the chocolate on top of the dates
Chill until set
Store in the fridge or freezer for longer storage
