Combine the flour, sugar, melted butter (or ghee), whole yogurt, dried yeast, lukewarm water, and salt in a bowl and knead all the ingredients into a dough.
Knead the dough for about 5 to 10 minutes until you have a nice elastic dough.
Let the dough rise, covered, for 1 hour in a warm, draft-free place.
Preheat the oven to 250°C (482°F).
Knead the dough briefly after rising and then divide it into eight pieces.
Roll out each piece of dough on a lightly floured work surface into an oval shape about half a centimeter thick.
Mix the melted butter and finely chopped garlic to make garlic butter.
Brush the dough with the melted garlic butter and bake it in 6-9 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Brush the naan directly after baking again with the garlic butter and, if desired, sprinkle with chopped coriander.
Keep the breads warm in aluminum foil if needed and eat them as fresh as possible.
