Molasses Cookies
  1. Pre-heat to 325 degrees

  2. In a large bowl whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, ginger, cloves and cinnamon.

  3. In separate bowl beat together butter, shortening, 3 C flour until light and fluffy.

  4. Then beat in molasses.

  5. Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition.

  6. Gradually beat in flour mixture and mix well.

  7. In shallow bowl put in remaining ½ C sugar.

  8. Form dough into 1- 1 ½ “ balls and roll in sugar.

  9. Arrange balls about 4” apart and flatten slightly w/ bottom of glass dipped in sugar.

  10. Bake for 15 minutes until puffed and golden.
