  1. Preheat oven to 350°F

  2. Cream brown sugar, shortening, and eggs

  3. Add pumpkin and mix well

  4. Add baking soda, salt, pumpkin spice, and vanilla, mix well

  5. Add flour and mix well

  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes

  7. Frosting

  8. Cream together cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and milk

  9. Gradually add powdered sugar

  10. Variations

  11. For gluten free: use rice flour instead of regular flour

  12. Frosting can be used for 2x batch recipe

  13. One 15 oz can of pumpkin makes 2 recipes
