Blueberry or Raspberry Slump
  1. Simmer berries with sugar to taste until juice runs and berries are soft.

  2. Butter slices of white bread. Put layer of bread in serving dish and pour on berries and juice.

  3. Continue alternating layers, being sure that bread gets saturated.

  4. Refrigerate 2 or more hours. Serve with heavy cream or vanilla ice cream.
