Wash, core, and slice the apples into approximately ¼-inch-thick slices.
Melt the butter in a large cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ground ginger. Stir until combined.
Add the sliced apples and gently toss until evenly coated in the butter and spice mixture.
Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.
Remove from the heat and serve warm or at room temperature.
