Blistered Broccolini w/Charred Dates, Lemon, and Sesame
  1. Prep work: Trim broccolini stems and halve any thick stems lengthwise. Thinly slice half of the lemon into rounds and then quarter (discard ends). Reserve the remaining lemon half for squeezing on later.

  2. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccolini and season with salt. Toss it once or twice to evenly coat with oil, then cook undisturbed until charred in spots, approximately 3-4 minutes. Toss again and cook until bright green, well-charred, and tender. Turn off heat, grate garlic into skillet and toss. Transfer to serving plate.

  3. Place the skillet over medium heat, add the lemon, dates, and more olive oil. Cook, undisturbed until the lemons are caramelized in spots and dates have darkened in color, approximately 2 minutes.

  4. Top plated broccolini with lemons and dates. Drizzle with sesame oil and squeeze the reserved lemon half over. Serve and enjoy.
