Homemade Dr. Pepper Syrup
  1. Add 2 cups of brown sugar into your pan and heat over medium heat until it starts to melt.

  2. As soon as it starts melting, add in 1 cup of water and continue stirring to dissolve all the sugar.

  3. Once dissolved, add in 2 pieces of orange, lemon and lime peel, a combination of about ¼ tsp each ground cardamom, clove and nutmeg, 2 tsp peppercorn, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 small piece of ginger and 1 cup frozen cherries.

  4. Simmer that on medium high heat until slightly thickened. Don’t overcook it or your syrup will solidify as it cools.

  5. Once slightly thickened, add 1 tbsp (or your desired amount) of syrup to a glass with ice and sparkling water and enjoy!
