Giant Garlic Knots
  1. Whisk warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly

  2. Add olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and oregano to the mixture

  3. Add half of the flour and mix, then gradually add the remaining flour

  4. Knead dough for 5 minutes, adding flour 1 tablespoon at a time if needed

  5. Cover dough and let rise in a warm area for 1-2 hours until doubled in size

  6. Shape dough into a log and cut into strips

  7. Lengthen each strip and tie into a knot

  8. Place knots on baking sheet and let rest for 30-45 minutes

  9. Melt butter and add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt

  10. Use ¾ of the garlic butter mixture on the knots before baking

  11. Optional: brush knots with beaten egg for golden color

  12. Bake at 400°F for 20-23 minutes

  13. Top baked knots with remaining garlic butter mixture, Parmesan, and parsley
