Melt the butter and chocolate together and stir until smooth
In another bowl, beat the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until pale and slightly thick
Stir in the vanilla and slowly mix in the melted chocolate
Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl
Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined
Scoop about 2 tbsp per cookie onto a parchment-lined baking sheet
Optionally refrigerate to make easier to handle, or bake straight onto the sheet for perfect brownie texture
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-11 minutes until the tops are shiny and crackly and centers look slightly soft
Round the cookies while still warm for better appearance
Let cool on the tray for a few minutes before moving to a cooling rack
Avoid overbaking
