Homemade Bread
  1. In a large bowl, pour 3 cups lukewarm water and add 2 tablespoons of instant yeast, whisk together

  2. In a mixing bowl, add 7 cups flour and 3 teaspoons salt, whisk together

  3. Add 2 tablespoons oil to flour, whisk together

  4. Form a well in the center of dry ingredients

  5. Add water/yeast mixture to dry ingredients

  6. Mix dough for 3-5 minutes and check consistency. If dough is dry, add 1 teaspoon of water at a time. If dough is too tacky, add a pinch of flour at a time

  7. Continue to knead dough until it reaches a perfect tacky consistency

  8. Knead dough into a ball

  9. Place dough in bowl and cover with cloth

  10. Proof dough in oven for 1 hour with a cake pan full of boiling hot water on a separate rack

  11. Separate dough into two parts

  12. Form dough into preferred shape (round loaf or baguette) and cover with cloth

  13. Proof dough for another 30 minutes with boiled water

  14. Bake at 400°F for 40 minutes or until golden brown
