Season brisket with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Heat olive oil in a pan and sear brisket on all sides until browned.
Place sliced onions and garlic in the slow cooker, then add brisket on top.
In a bowl, mix beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
Pour mixture over the brisket.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours (or high for 4–5 hours) until tender.
Slice or shred and spoon sauce over before serving.
