Begin by boiling water for the tea and make one cup or eight ounces of strong black or Earl Gray tea. For a stronger London Fog, use two tea bags instead of one.
Allow the tea to steep for five to seven minutes.
Using a milk frothing pitcher or a small saucepan, combine one cup of whole milk, one tablespoon of brown sugar or maple syrup, and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Heat the milk on low heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a gentle simmer.
Combine the tea and milk mixture.
Whip two tablespoons of heavy whipping cream.
Dust with cinnamon and, if desired, sprinkle on some lavender buds.
