  1. Mix white vinegar, salt, and cold water to create the brine

  4. Season the drained chicken with olive oil, Dominican oregano, fresh thyme, cumin, freshly mashed garlic, and lime juice

  5. Marinate the seasoned chicken for at least 1 hour or overnight

  6. Mix all-purpose flour with garlic powder, onion powder, and adobo in a separate bowl

  7. Gently dust each piece of chicken with the seasoned flour, ensuring complete coverage on all sides

  8. Dust off excess flour from each piece

  9. Heat oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

  10. Carefully add chicken pieces to the hot oil one by one, avoiding overcrowding

  11. Fry until chicken is golden brown

  12. Remove chicken and drain excess oil on paper towels

  13. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the fried chicken

  14. Serve with hot sauce if desired
