Cinnamon Roll Pantry Mix (no Yeast No Rise)
  1. Layer the dry ingredients in a mason jar, starting with the flour and finishing with the cinnamon. Seal the jar tightly and label it with the following instructions for later use.

  2. Instructions for Making Cinnamon Rolls:

  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  4. Prepare the dough:

  5. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients from the mason jar with ½ cup buttermilk and ¼ cup melted butter. (If you don't have buttermilk then add 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice to a 1 cup measuring cup, then fill the rest of the way with either milk, coconut or soy milk. Stir until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little extra flour until it reaches the right consistency.

  6. Roll out the dough:

  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.

  8. Lightly butter the dough then add cinnamon sugar:

  9. In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup brown sugar with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.

  10. Roll and slice:

  11. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Slice the roll into 8-10 even pieces.

  12. Bake the cinnamon rolls:

  13. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.

  14. Optional icing:

  15. For an added touch, mix ½ cup powdered sugar, 1-2 teaspoons milk, and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract to drizzle over the warm rolls.

  16. Let the cinnamon rolls cool slightly, then enjoy the delicious, homemade treat!
