Syrniki (farmer’s Cheese Pancakes)
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, vegetable oil, tvorog or farmer's cheese, butter, egg yolks, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Knead the mixture until it forms a soft dough.

  3. If the dough is too sticky, add a tablespoon or two of flour.

  4. Shape the dough into small pancake-shaped patties.

  5. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a little vegetable oil.

  6. Fry the patties in batches until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  7. Serve the syrniki hot, topped with sour cream and sugar.
