Homemade Bagels 🥯

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 ⅓ cups warm water, 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast, and 2 tsp honey. Let it sit for 5 mins. Add in 3 ½ cups all purpose flour and 1 ½ tsp salt. Mix together in a stand mixer using dough hook for 5-7 mins. Shape into a ball then place into greased bowl. Cover with towel and let rest for 60 mins. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Add 8 cups water, 1 tbsp baking soda, and 1 tbsp honey to a large pot. Bring to a boil. Once dough is risen, cut into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, using your thumbs press a hole through the center, then stretch the hole out by twirling it around your fingers. Place four bagels in the boiling water for 30 seconds on each side. In a small bowl whisk together, one large egg and 1 tbsp water. Brush egg wash on top of bagels. Bake for 20 to 25 mins. Enjoy!
