Pear Tarte Tatin
  1. Melt the butter in a pan and add sugar.

  2. Arrange the pears in the pan and add the spices (vanilla, cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg).

  3. Cover the pears with puff pastry, tucking it in behind the pears.

  4. Score the pastry to allow the caramel to come through.

  5. Cook the tart on the stove on low heat for 5-10 minutes to start the caramelization.

  6. Transfer the pan to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
