  1. Heat water, sugar, and corn syrup until dissolved.

  2. Add vanilla seeds + pods. Simmer 10–15 minutes.

  3. Remove pods (optional), then blend.

  4. Stir in cornstarch slurry and heat until thick (maple syrup consistency).

  5. Remove from heat, add extract + vodka if using.

  6. Cool completely (thickens more as it sits).
