Yield About 2 cups (8 servings)
🛒 Ingredients:
• 3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
• 2 jalapeños, finely diced
• 1 small red jalapeño or Fresno pepper, finely diced, optional
• ½ cup hot honey
• ½ cup brown sugar
• ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
• 1 tablespoon ketchup
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
• ½ teaspoon chili powder
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ½ teaspoon onion powder
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon black pepper
• ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
• 1 tablespoon butter, optional for glossy finish
👩🍳 Directions:
1️⃣ Combine blueberries, jalapeños, hot honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and balsamic vinegar in a medium saucepan.
2️⃣ Cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring often, until the blueberries begin to burst.
3️⃣ Mash some of the blueberries with a spoon or potato masher. Leave some whole for texture.
4️⃣ Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
5️⃣ Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 18–25 minutes, stirring often, until thick and glossy.
6️⃣ To test the texture, drag a spoon through the jam. If it leaves a clear trail for a second before closing, it is ready.
7️⃣ Stir in butter at the end for a shiny BBQ-style finish.
8️⃣ Let cool for 10 minutes, then spoon into a clean glass jar.
9️⃣ Chill for at least 1 hour before serving. The jam thickens more as it cools.
