Step 1: Slice the Potatoes - Cut the russets into thick disks — about ½ inch thick works best.
Step 2: Mix the Sauce - In a bowl, stir together melted butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.
Step 3: Layer Everything - Add onions to the bottom of the slow cooker first. Then stack in the potato disks. Pour the sauce all over the top.
Step 4: Slow Cook - Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours. The edges should look dark golden and sticky when they’re ready.
