Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
Add the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, and salt to a food processor.
Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
If the hummus is too thick, add a tablespoon or two of water and blend again.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or your favorite dippers.
