Soy Sauce Pan-Seared Salmon

  1. Dissolve brown sugar in 1 cup warm water.

  2. Add soy sauce (~¼ cup) , liquid smoke and olive oil to equal about 2 cups total.

  3. Season salmon filet with garlic powder and black pepper (lemon pepper optional).

  4. Place filet with skin up and add marinade.

  5. Let marinade >30 minutes.

  6. Lightly grease pan (salmon has plenty of fat) and fry scale-side down for ~7 minutes on medium heat.

  7. Flip and cook filet for 4 minutes on opposite side.

  8. Let filet rest for a few minutes and serve.
