In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped chicken, olive oil, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, parsley, paprika, a pinch of salt and pepper, and the chopped onion. Mix well and set aside.
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. In a 9x13 casserole dish, spread the frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom.
Layer the seasoned chicken mixture on top of the tater tots, spreading it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, take the casserole out of the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheese and bacon pieces on top.
Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the chicken is fully cooked.
Once cooked to your liking, remove the casserole from the oven. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
Divide the casserole into 6 equal portions and serve in containers. You can add sour cream on top now or serve it separately for each portion.
Finish by garnishing with chopped green onions.
