Place saltines in a large 16 x 11 cookie sheet. Melt butter and sugar in a pan; bring to a boil for 3 minutes (mixture will be thick).
Pour mixture over saltines and bake at 400° for 3 to 5 minutes. Watch carefully. Do not burn. Remove; sprinkle chocolate chips over it. Spread once melted.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours. Break into pieces.
