Grandma's Famous Orange Rolls
  1. Make the dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the warm water and beaten eggs, and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead in the softened butter until fully incorporated.

  2. Grease a large bowl and place the dough inside. Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  3. Make the orange filling: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and orange zest.

  4. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle, about ¼ inch thick. Spread the orange filling evenly over the dough.

  5. Roll the dough up tightly, starting from the short side. Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces.

  6. Grease a baking sheet or grill grates. Place the rolls cut-side up on the prepared surface, spacing them a few inches apart.

  7. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

  8. Bake the rolls at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. Alternatively, grill the rolls over medium heat for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.

  9. Make the orange cream cheese frosting: In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, orange juice, orange zest, vanilla, and salt, mixing until well combined.

  10. Spread the frosting over the warm rolls and serve immediately.
