In a 5-6 quart soup pot, cook ground beef, onion, and celery over medium high heat until meat is browned. Drain off any fat.
Add minced garlic and saute for about a minute.
Add Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Bring to a boil and simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes.
Add green beans, and cook for another 10 minutes or until green beans are tender.
Garnish with shredded cheese if desired.
