Dangerously Good Chili Oil
  1. Finely chop the scallions, garlic, red pepper (if using), and ginger

  2. Add all the spices, sesame, salt, pepper, and silan to a jar or bowl

  3. Heat olive oil until very hot (not smoking)

  4. Slowly pour the hot oil over the mixture until it sizzles immediately

  5. Stir, let cool slightly, and store in the fridge
