In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned on both sides.
Stir in minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Pour in chicken broth and cream. Stir well and bring to a light simmer.
Add uncooked pasta directly to the pot. Stir and cover. Simmer on low for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender.
Once pasta is cooked and the sauce has thickened slightly, stir in the shredded cheese. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika if using. Serve hot with extra cheese on top.
