Melt butter in a pan over medium heat until it foams, then turns golden with little brown flecks and smells like toasted hazelnuts. → Immediately pull it off heat so it doesn’t burn.
Apple filling: Toss everything together and spread in your baking dish.
Topping: Mix dry ingredients. Stir in browned butter + discard. It should look like chunky, slightly damp sand with clumps (clumps = crunch = victory).
Assemble + Bake: Sprinkle topping loosely over apples. Bake at 350°F for 40–50 min. Look for bubbling edges + golden top.
Finish like a legend: Let it rest 15–20 min. Hit it with a tiny pinch of flaky salt.
