Ziti Chickpeas With Sausage And Kale
  1. Heat large sauté pan over medium-high heat and coat with olive oil.

  2. Add onion and garlic and cook until they begin to soften, about 4 minutes.

  3. Add ground sausage, kosher salt, black pepper, oregano, and pepper flakes, cooking for 6 to 8 minutes.

  4. Add tomatoes and chickpeas, bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer.

  5. Simmer for 10 to 25 minutes, adding water if the mixture looks too thick.

  6. Add kale and cook until wilted, about 2 to 3 minutes.

  7. Preheat oven's broiler. If pan isn't ovenproof, transfer mixture to a baking dish.

  8. Scatter cheeses on top and broil until melted and browned.

  9. Serve immediately.
