Szarlotka Z Budyniem (apple Pie With Custard)
  1. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and baking powder.

  2. Add the chopped cold butter and the egg. Quickly knead the dough, wrap in foil and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  3. Peel the apples and grate them coarsely.

  4. Transfer to a pot, add the lemon juice, sugar/honey, cinnamon and raisins (if using). Cook until the apples are soft and the excess liquid has evaporated.

  5. Line a 20 x 25 cm baking dish with parchment paper.

  6. Grate ¾ of the dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared pan.

  7. Bake at 180°C for 10 minutes.

  8. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the pre-baked crust.

  9. Pour the prepared vanilla pudding over the apples.

  10. Grate the remaining dough over the top.

  11. Bake at 170°C for about 45 minutes, until the crust is nicely browned.

  12. Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
