  2. Whisk flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Cream butter + sugars until fluffy (3 min).

  4. Beat in egg, yolk, vanilla, almond, and cream.

  5. Mix in dry ingredients just until combined.

  6. Scoop ¼-cup portions (≈90 g). Roll lightly, flatten to thick discs.

  7. Bake 9–11 minutes — edges set, centers pale and soft.

  8. Cool completely before frosting.

  9. Beat cream cheese + butter until smooth.

  10. Add powdered sugar gradually.

  11. Mix in vanilla, almond, salt, and coloring.

  12. Spread generously with an offset spatula.
