Wash sweet potato and pierce all over with a fork.
Wet a paper towel, wring it out, and wrap it around the potato.
Place on a microwave-safe plate and cook on high for 3 minutes.
Flip and microwave for another 2 minutes.
If it still feels firm, continue in 30-second increments until tender.
Split open and add desired toppings like butter, syrup and a pinch of kosher salt or flaky salt.
