Ham- I used a spiral Kentucky Legend ham, but any ham will do
Beans - One bag of great northern beans. Soak over night. The following morning drain and then pour the beans into a large crockpot. Cover the beans with about 4 cups of water and 1 cup of chicken broth. Add Salt, Pepper and Garlic Powder to your liking, mix well. Add the ham and onion. Cook on low for 8 hours.
Cornbread - Mix 2 C AP flour, 1 ⅓ C of Cornmeal, 4 ½ tsps baking powder, ½ tsp salt, and ¾ C sugar. Then add in your wet ingredients. ⅔ C butter, 3 eggs, 1 ⅔ C milk. Mix well until blended.
Preheat oven to 400° with the cast iron skillet inside. Once it reaches 400° pour cornbread mixture in the skillet and bake for 30 minutes.
