Season both sides of room temperature steak with salt and pepper
Pour olive oil in cast iron pan, enough to coat the bottom, and heat pan on medium-high heat
Add in steak and cook for 5 minutes on each side (don’t forget the sides of the steak)
Take off heat and add butter & herbs of choice to the pan to baste the steak (continually spooning butter on steak for 1 minute)
