Roasted Cabbage With Dan Dan Sauce And Tofu Mince
  1. Roast the cabbage: Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices. Place on a baking sheet and brush with avocado oil. Sprinkle with five spice, coriander, white pepper and salt. Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until cabbage is tender and charred on the edges.

  2. Make the Dan Dan sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the Chinese sesame paste, garlic, tamari, chili oil, sambal oelek, Sichuan pepper, five spice, maple syrup and vegetable broth.

  3. Make the tofu mince: Crumble the tofu into small pieces. In a bowl, mix the tofu with the coriander, smoked paprika, five spice, tamari, potato starch, avocado oil, mirin and hoisin sauce.

  4. To serve, place the roasted cabbage on a plate, top with the tofu mince and drizzle with the Dan Dan sauce.
