Nana's cornbread
  1. Preheat oven to 425 °F (ca. 218 °C)

  2. Combine corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Add milk, egg, and oil.

  4. Mix until batter is mostly smooth, about 1 minute.

  5. Bake in a greased, cast iron pan for 23–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
