Prepare the strawberries and arrange them in the bottom of a cake tin.
Melt the butter and brown sugar together, then pour over the strawberries.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
Add the self-raising flour, baking powder and milk, and mix until combined.
Pour the cake batter over the strawberries.
Bake in the oven until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
Allow to cool slightly, then turn out onto a plate to serve.
