In a large bowl, combine 3 cups instant nonfat dry milk, 2½ cups granulated sugar, 2½ cups instant clear jel, 1½ tablespoons salt, 2 tablespoons vanilla bean powder or substitute 2 tablespoons vanilla extract powder. Store in an airtight container.
To prepare in place of 3.4 oz box: In a medium bowl, whisk ¼ cup mix with 2 cups cold milk for 2–3 minutes until thickened. Let stand for 5 minutes to fully set.If preparing in place of a 5 oz box: use ½ cup mix with 3 cups cold milk for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Let stand for 5 minutes to fully set.
Chill or serve immediately.
