The Most Perfect Vanilla Cake
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Grease and flour cake pans.

  3. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.

  4. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  6. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately, mixing just until combined.

  7. Stir in vanilla.

  8. Pour batter into prepared pans.

  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  10. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on a wire rack.

  11. Frost with whipped vanilla bean buttercream.
