  5. Divide the rested dough into 8 equal portions.

  6. Roll each portion into a thin circle or oval on a lightly floured surface.

  7. Brush each rolled-out dough piece with a mixture of softened butter and vegetable oil.

  8. Fold the dough into a layered shape (e.g., fold into quarters or roll into a log and coil into a spiral).

  9. Roll out the layered dough again into a flatbread shape.

  10. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

  11. Cook each flatbread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown spots appear, brushing with a little butter or oil if desired.
